I have a brain illness that makes it difficult for me to manage finances.
I had just paid down an inflated minimum payment to Fleet and was continuing to make payments on a closed account, when, in January of Fleet merged with Bank of America. From January until June of I received no statements. I kept paying Fleet, regardless of the SNAFU. Still no statements.
In June I received what B of A told me was a fraudulent email talking about my account there. I stopped paying Fleet (a.K.A., Thin Air) as of July because I was waiting for B of A to send me a statement. It never came.
I still don't know what happened to my account. I tried contacting through the Internet a lot, but that never worked.
Then I called Fleet and couldn't talk to a human because there's no way around the phone system. I called B of A today 5/17), pretended to have a lost or stolen card (a lost account is about the same), and talked to customer service rep, Mr. Richard - .
My account apparently exists, he said, but there's nothing on it. Mr. Parker said I had to talk to an Account Specialist in the Recovery Dept. He said he would connect me. My call was transferred but never went through. All I got was the computerized, recorded voice asking me to make choices that didn't apply (again). Then the line went dead.
I really would like to have this all cleared up.
