Deceptive, sneaky billing policies are typical of what you should expect from the Blade

The Toledo Blade's renewal policy is sneaky to say the least. If one does not want to buy a product, he/she does not order it. When a subscription expires, one reasonably expects that they no longer will receive that product. Not with the Blade. You see, the Blade thinks you are stupid and forgot to renew. So they renew for you and then expect you to pay. When you call to try to explain that you never wanted or expected to receive their newspaper, they say, "sorry - its our policy."
My response is to say thank you for making my decision never to read your paper again easy. The bright side is that I have begun a subscription with the Detroit News and it is by far a better paper.

I think this for a few good reasons:
1.) Better graphic designs - more pleasing to the eye.
2.) No petty, partial, slanted articles about people and news of the day.
3.) A much better sports page.
4.) Relevant, interesting articles.

The only drawback is lack of local news, however, the (Toledo) Free Press and City Paper provide all of the local news I need to concern myself with.

Good riddance Toledo Blade... I don't miss you a bit!
