Joe Contarino and Jeff Petry are basically partners in Contry Homes and Maplecrest Construction. They are also owners of Midcor Supply, which supplies all of the materials for their so called homes. How ironic is that.
We learned the hard way and had purchased a Contry Home. We had nothing but problems. It was a total nightmare. We lived in this so called house for about 8 months and had to sell and get out for our own sanity. Contry Homes refused to fix anything and that it was all cosmetic and not covered under warranty.
He uses subs that nobody else wants.
Some of the problems we had were:
1) Major cracks in foundation
2) Heaving walls that seperated at the ceiling
3) Drafts everywhere ($450.00/month heating bills)
4) Moisture between the panes of glass on the windows
5) No sump pump (a code issue)
6) Pine door shims in beam pockets (a code issue)
7) Interior doors would no shut (about a month after closing)
8) Chunks of concrete liftin up on basement floor
9) Frost on baseboards in winter
I could go on and on, but I'm just glad we sold the house and took our loss.
We even had the local Building Inspector advise us that the best thing we could do is sell and move. What was this all about, he is the one that passed it. It's pretty bad when the Building Inspector tells you you should move. Why would you sign-off on a new home, as the Inspector, when you know there are many items that do not meet code. I think there is some funny money being passed from these developers to the inspectors.
I would tell everyone "Buyer Beware". These guys are real scum.
There is no Customer in Contry.
