A brief history
We purchased a used EZ-GO golf cart from Nagy in 2000 and paid cash for it.
Later, since we did not play golf, we had a seat put on the back and the front seat re-upholstered to match the back.
We also purchased a total cover so we could use the cart in bad weather.
Through the years we were faithful about getting it serviced every year.
We replaced the batteries I think it was in 2002 at a cost of three hundred dollars.
All this took place while young Andrew Nagy the son was running the business.
We moved and did not use the cart very much so we did not get it serviced every year.
Than the last of January of this year we had a flat tire and the batteries needed some attention so we had Nagy pick the cart up.
That is when the trouble started.
The called and told us that we needed new batteries, that the ones in there were about five years old and should be replaced and that new ones would cost five hundred dollars.
We told them that we could not afford that much money at this time.
That is when everything changed.
They brought the cart back and unloaded it.
The driver said the bill was eighty five dollars so the wife paid him.
Right then was when we made our first mistake.
As soon as he got the check he ran to his truck and took off.
After he left we went out to check the cart.
It was filthy dirty and we discovered that the wind shield was broken. About a quarter of the lower left side was gone and the upper right hand corner was broken.
I called Mr Nagy and asked him why he did not wash the cart because they had always before. He carried on about how sun fadied it was.
Than I told him about the wind shield. He more or less accused me of lying and hung up on me
I called back and asked him what he was going to do about the wind shield and he said get it fixed and hung up.
I took some pictures of the the wind shield and wrote him a nice letter and sent the pictures to him.
I waited a week and did not hear from him so I sent him another letter telling him that I knew and his driver knew that I was telling the truth and if he would follow the route that the driver took coming out here that he might find the broken piece.
As yet I have not heard from Mr Nagy.
I must admit when when the son was running the business you could not ask for a nicer person to deal with.
Not so with senior.
My wife and I are eighty years old and I have to use a walker to get around.
It would seem to me that some people tend to take advantage of you because of age.
I know Nagy has no intention of doing anything about my problem and it is not wortwhile to get a lawyer, so I guess we will have to chalk it up as a bad experience.
