Rigid Building Systems sales district manager Mike Golgart referred Joey Jones to build my 36'X 50' red iron metal building on 11-17-05. I have email to verify this.
After talking to Joey Jones D.B. A "Jones Construction Group", he agreed to purchase the building, pour the concrete slab, unload, erect the building, and run electrical to my building for $32,850. I have a signed contract with his contractor seal. What ever good the seal is?
He failed to pay Rigid the down payment and didn't supply my slab & foundation plans as I found out 2 months later from Rigid, that Joey was to supply the drawing, not Rigid. I have the phone records to prove the time frame of calls to both Jones and Golgart who gave approval and a commitment I wouldn't lose any money to Jones. It took 2 months before I was told by Rigid that Jones had failed to pay Rigid the down payment. I was told for 2 months that the building was scheduled and the drawings were on the way. I was never told early on that Jones was supplying the drawings until 2 months after all this started.
I have receipts for the check fee's and copies of the canceled check with Jones signature and fingerprint for verification when he cashed it.
Jones missed 7 scheduled appointments and failed to return numerous phone calls. I have copies of emails I sent to Rigid telling them of my concerns with Jones. I will send them to who ever to prove I was flagging this Guy early on. All the time Rigid was saying he was all right and nothing to worry about. Jones claimed he left numerous phone messages but 4 caller ID phones prove he left just two. Those calls came only after Mike Golgart got in touch with him to complain about not calling me or meeting with me.
I contacted Fred Campana who owns Rigid and he said it was my problem to get the money from Jones not his. He said that I went with Jones, they only referred him, and so I am at fault for my loss. Rigid Building System referred Jones to 3 other customers, 2 in Maryland and 1 in Colorado. I have spoken to them and they were ripped off for $8,000-$2300 - $20,000 for damages and rework caused by Jones. I have names and numbers for verification.
I have filed with the BBB, Dept. Of Business and Professional Regulation, Jacksonville States Attorney, Federal Trade Commission.
He has a Occupational License only in Florida #55084 that states Special trade contractor, no competency card, cannot erect steel buildings with this license - need building contractor.
He doesn't have a Florida contractors license.
He travels as far as New Mexico west to Maryland north. He is crossing state lines. This should be interstate fraud or something!
When I was a month into the deal he told me he was in a lawsuit with Freedom Steel Metal Building Sales of Port St. Lucie, Florida for over $100,000 because a building he built for them collapsed. I haven't been successful in finding out any data on this lawsuit orther than what Jones stated to me.
