Ripoff unauthorized withdrawl from my checking account

Star Communications contacted me saying that I could receive $500 worth of coupons just for viewing a travel brochure and that I could cancel the brochure within 10 days and not be charged for it.

I agreed and gave the rep my checking account number for the shipping and handeling of the package that contained the coupons and confirmation number and contact number to cancel if I wanted. They debited my account and I never recieved the package.

Three months went by before I ballenced my checkbook (I don't ballence it that often because I know what's in there and what I do spend) When I ballenced my checkbook and was off by a lot of money I contacted my bank to see where these unknown deductions were coming from and my bank informed me Star Communications had been deducting money every month for the last three months. I still had never received my package from them, but they took my money.

I got the name and phone number of the company from my bank and I contacted Star Communications to try to get my money back. I asked to speak with a manager, but 'conveniently' they had no manager avalible for me to speak with.

They said I had to hand write a letter and send my bank statment to get my money back. My bank only holds statements for a month so I can't get all of my money back.

In my account I didn't have enough money to cover the charges I didn't know were coming out so my bank took the money from my daughters savings account. I started that account when I first found out I was pregnant and now I don't have her money either.

I wound up not having the money to pay my rent and I had to move. All this was right before Christmas of 2005 and so I had barely a Christmas with my 20 month old daughter.

They wound up charging me $800 and with all my bank fees it wound up costing me $1,100 that I had to pay my bank. So I lost $800 to them, $300 in bank charges, and I had to come up with the $1,100 to pay my bank because my account was in the negative that amount.

With my bank only going back one month with statments all I could get from them is about $400. And that's IF I win the fight to get my money.
