Contacted Viking Vending via their 800 number in late october from the following ad text placed in the Tucson Newspapers. Local cash business.invest 34k one time and make $2500 a week forever! We provide training, customers, equipment, and support. Call now: 800-678-8454. I spoke repeadtely with dave morris and bill harris. They told me they were 20 year veterans and experts on the vending industry and thru extensive research and development had come up with all the answers to vending issues. These were: 1. Low profit margins. 2. Difficulty in locating the units. They said there program had solved these issues and that i would be guaranteed an income minimum of $5K a month for a $16K investment and that it would double in december if i bought now due to the holiday shopping rush and higher volume of people out in retail enviromnet. They were emphatic about this! They said they worked with childsearch.org and that each candy/donation box would have a sticker of missing child from my state of arizona, and that the retailers would gladly allow the unit in their store to help the cause, and all i had to do was send a donation each month to childsearch, when i collected my money and refilled the units with candy. They told me each location would be prequalifed and preinspected by them on the phone and in their literature. DAvid MOrris told me the candy would cost 2 cents a piece and the average dontation would be 25 cents. They told me since these were honor boxes with an open bottom with full access to the candy i would make more money than a convetional unit that only dispenses the candy one piece at a time when the money has been paid. NOne of the above has ever come true, as is blatantly false, and they have misrepresented this entire business to me. Furthermore, the above facts are all secondary to the fact, that when i received the boxes unopened i called the company and spoke to bill harris and requested an immediate refund. He said he would charge me $4k to refund them or a 25% restocking fee, but he would have to get back to me since the owner of the company was in the hospital on an emergency. Her name is Marilyn Hall.in the meantime he said go ahead and locate the route since he would either sell the route in the next week or two or refund my money, whichever came first. The following week he then changed his story, and said there would be no refund since the route was located and the only option would be to sell it. According the Marilyn Hall, the president she told the bbb they were not only selling it for me but it would be done at no charge to me! They made me pay to run ads and they have not contacted me in 3 weeks with any information, nor are they running ad at this time. I simply want money back as promised less the $4k they get to keep for a couple hours of phone time. They have several complaints with the bbb, several unresolved and I now speaking with the FTC and the attorney general to determine whether they even filed the required paperwork to sell thse packages, and provide me with the required full pre-disclosures. I will take this as far as neccessary to get my money back! Thus far after servicing the route for a month i have not made enough money to even replace the candy in the displays! People take handfulls of candy a leave a dime or quarter. The marketing system is designed for one thing. To make the initial sale with no accountability!
