I worked at CCA from January to July. I loved my job, but didn't love who I had to work with, so I just put my 8 hours in and went home.
One night, my dad was in the hospital, and they put him on oxygen. I told Capt. Jones that I needed to go to the emergency room to see my dad. He acted like it pissed him off. He finally found me a relief like an hour and a half later. He said since I was leaving early on this day, that I'd have to work my day off which was on I think a Friday. That was fine ya know, but then he puts me in the only non-smokin pod on the compound. It wouldn't have bothered me as bad, but you can ask anyone who works there and smokes, that if you piss them off they will definatly put you in the non smokin pod.
I got tired of being treated like this, so I just quit. Regreting what I had done, I went and talked to Warden Cherry Lindamood. She agreed to give me my job back on Wednesday.
On Friday, I stayed over a few minutes for them, because the 3rd shift officer was late. On Saturday, one of the other 3rd shift officers that hadn't been showin up for a few days, didn't show up. They tried to make me work a double. Any other time, I wouldn't have cared to work a double, but I had no money, no cigs, hadn't eaten or drank anything that whole day, and I just wanted to go home, eat and go to bed.
Since I told them I didn't want to work the double shift, they had me escorted off the compound, which was really uncalled for.
I reapplyed w / CCA back in September, because I really liked my job. Well, they called me back in for an interview on November 9. After waiting there for over an hour and a half, they finally interview me. I can't remember the lady's name who interviewed me, but she was very rude.
She said since I've worked there twice already, I wasn't eligible for a rehire. It looks like they could've seen my record from there, and came to the conclusion that they wasn't gonna hire me bacck. Don't ya think? I was a good officer I thought, and technically, I only worked there once, because I was never taken off the payroll. I ot 2 MVP's within the first 2 months of me being there. Looks like to me, they would want good officers, but I don't guess they do! I guess this is what I get for not sleeping w / the Capt like everybody else!
