Quite a few months ago, my home was being broken into and I was being stalked. I talked to the management who sent me to the local police. The local police department sent me back to the management.
As a result I got no where and went to the local SPCA and adopted a rather large dog. Sortly after adopting my dog the break-ins stopped and I am no longer being stalked. However the management did not like this idea and came over and threatened my father.
I received a call from the management and was threatened. I wrote a formal complaint to the head office in Florida and to date have not received any word from them. Here is a copy of my complaint:
To whom it may concern;
I have a very serious complaint about the new manager here at Regency Lakes. A few months ago, my house was being burglarized on a regular basis and I was being stalked. I went to the Manager here who informed me that I had to go to the police. The police informed me that I had to go to the housing management. So as a solution, I went to the SPCA and adopted a large dog. There is nothing in the lease that I signed that I could not have a large dog. The laws here in Virginia State that no animal shelter, SPCA, or humane society can adopt out a vicious or aggressive dog.
However, shortly after I adopted my dog the break-ins have stopped and I am no longer being stalked. When the new office manager took over she stated:
1) No large dogs are allowed in the trailer park. Yet there are an abundance of labs, German Shepards, an aggressive boxer, and even a Great Pyrenees that wonder unattended throughout the park (please define large dog).
2) She told me that she tried to call me and my phone was disconnected. I've lived here for 12 years and I can assure you that my phone has never been disconnected.
3) She told me that I am not allowed any dogs or am I allowed to protect my home or myself in anyway as long as I live here.
4) She told me that she doesn't "give a f*k" if anything happens to me or my property. A direct quote!
5) She also told me that if I don't get rid of my "f*king dog" now that "I'll be evicted this weekend." A direct quote!
6) I tried to explain to the new manager about the adoption laws here in Virginia she stated "You don't know what the f*k you're talking about." A direct quote!
7) I asked the new manager how I'm supposed to protect myself if I have to get rid of my dog. She stated "that's not my f*king concern." A direct quote!
8) I stated that if I have to get rid of my dog then I was going to call her every time I heard a strange noise and when the stalking starts back up and if someone breaks into my house. She stated "If you even f*king think about doing that and I will have you f*king evicted." A direct quote!
I don't know why I'm being singled out like this. I have lived in this trailer park for 12 going on 13 years now. I have always treated people with respect and understanding. There are other big dogs in the trailer park most of which are tied outside or are allowed to wonder freely, I don't see why I can't have an inside dog for protection. My dog is only outside when being walked on a leash, and not allowed to roam freely.
I have yet to meet this new manager face to face. I come home around 5 PM Monday through Friday and she has yet to be in the office.
I would very much like to talk with a Regional Manager to clarify this situation.
