I applied for a administrative secretary with Sonera Ltd.in September, assuming that this was an office position. I received an email saying that my resume had been reviewed and they sent me an application first then an employment contract with a documents of FAQ's.
I basically held the position of holding their items for customers in my home as storage until they provided me with the information as to where the packages needed to be shipped. I received about 8 packages in total over a period of time.
They claimed that they did not use a factory because of cost and that it was cheaper to pay individuals to work from home to carry out there task for them, and they stated that everything was legal in their FAQ's document
I also received cashier's checks and the money had to be western union to them. They never got any money from me, and they never charged a set up fee, but they never paid me my salary for my services.
After not receiving my salary that they promised, I filed a complaint about them with econsumer. Gov. Today I received a letter from one of the companies that one of the packages had previously been sent from stating that I had the merchandise in my possession, and that I needed to pay $978.89 cent or return the merchandise.
They bought that particularly item on a stolen credit card, and I am worried that I may receive more letters from the other companies that sent packages here from the stuff that they ordered because they are a fraudulent company. I contacted that particular and they are closing the case. I have all receipts, slips, and envelopes for everything that I have done for them.
