We purchased a home warranty for our new home in May.in October our permanently installed sump pump in our basement broke, leaving us with raw sewage in our basement. We immediately contacted Jessica at Liberty Home Warranty as our contract clearly states permanent sump pumps are covered in our 1 year home warranty contract. Jessica of Liberty Home Warranty made arrangements for their plumber to come out and fix our problem. The next day their (Liberty Home Warranty) plumber called 1/2 hour before they were supposed to come out and said they wouldn't come out because Liberty Home Warranty would not authorize the repair.
I then called Jessica, at which time she denied the repair. I had the sump pump repaired the next day by my plumber and then called Jessica for a letter of denial. She then stated it was a mistake and she wanted to send ANOTHER plumber out to take care of the problem. I told her that since she had denied the claim, we had already had it repaired. She said to fax the invoice to her and it would be taken care of and my 841.00 would be reimbursed to us, less the $40 deductible.
At this time we have yet to recieve the money, we have filed a small claims suit against Liberty Home Warranty and Burke Nelson, the owner and the Sheriff has been unable to serve the suit to the company or it's owner. When they answer their phone - "It's a great day at Liberty Home Warranty"- I'm sure it is because they're screwing all of us out of $200, and leaving us with hundreds in damages.
