On 9/25/05 I received a call from John Wells saying J.D.L. Services, Inc. Was a recovery services and was calling me in regards to Sureway Beneficial Service in Champlain, NY (another ripoff company).
He informed me that Sureway was busted and the people with Sureway were arrested by authorities. He said J.D.L. Services, Inc. Would be depositing $399.00 to my bank account as settlement from Sureway on 9/26/05 or 9/26/05.
He knew my name, address, bank account number, routing number and asked me to verify everything. So I did. He said in about two (2) weeks I would receive some papers to sign to close this problem with Sureway Beneficial Service.
He asked me for a check number to link the deposit transaction and I asked why he needed the number. He said the number would serve as a case reference number and he even give me a Contract number. He verified 4 or 5 times that no money would be debited to my account.
On 10/7/05, this company, J.D.L. Services, Inc. Processed the check for $399.00 thru my bank, overdrew my account, and now, I have paid several overdraft charges from my bank. No money was deposited to my account to this date.
My bank is investigating this matter after several calls to their toll-free number which all calls went to a Voice mail box. My bank says I'll probably be out this money plus the overdraft fees. A toal of $501.00 because they recorded me and their employee, John Wells.
They got to be stopped.
I have contacted the Consumer Affairs Fraud Department in Delaware (that's were J.D.L. Services does their banking), the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Burea, and my banks Fraud department.
Now I must wait and see what happens.
