My roomate and I both received postcards from Silkies that said, "FREE SILKIES". It simply asked us our size and color preference, and said they would send a free trial pair of Silkies. Sounds great for two young working professionals like ourselves. So, we both ordered our free pair of silkies. When my free pair of silkies arrived, 2 others came with them. Sounds like a great deal, right? WRONG. The instructions were to send back the other two if you don't want them in very small writing at the very bottom of the back page of the invoice. I work 8-6 Mon-Fri. I never sent back the 2 other panty hose due to my lack of free time to get a box, go to the post office, and pay my hard earned money to send back the other two that I didn't aask for in the first place. So, after about 8 weeks, I received an "urgent" notice from Silkies. This notice reads in big black letters (unlike the small fine printed instructions on the invoice)— DELINQUENT ACCOUNT REVIEW. It reads this:
This is your THIRD reminder that payment for the
shipment of Silkies we sent to you over 91 days ago
is past due. Since you did not return the hoisery,
assumed you were satisfied and would pay for it. Why
haven't you contacted us to explain why you haven't
sent your payment?
Please make a payment of $21.83 by check, money
order or by using your bank card now... Etc.
Just so you ladies out there know, there is no e-mail address for them, and no phone number to call them. The only way to contact them is by a letter. What a pain! They do not make it easy for you to "contact" them to let them know you never wanted their $22 pantyhose anyway! I could have bought 2 pairs of Donna Karen panty hose that last for months for the same price! What a rip off, and now they are trying to mess with my credit! Please, whatever you do, do not order your so called "free pair of pantyhose", it's a total scam!!! I wouldn't even purchase them at the store now because of this senseless mess they have created. So please, let all your friends know about this so they don't have to deal with the same b.S. My roomate and I are having to deal with.
