Misrepresented the trade-in value of our 2005 Toyota Corolla in the amount of $1,100.00. Only gave us $13,000.00, but really blue book was $14,100.00. I didn't find out until I looked it up on the internet.
Then, they ripped me off on a 2000 Mazda Minivan. Carlos Morales did NOT do anything he agreed to on the minivan to make it safe like he promised.in fact, he misrepresented everything to me. He promised he'd put new tires, he did not.
He promised he'd make sure the air condititioning was working properly, he did not, the serpentine and other belts had been chewed by rats. The air filter was clogged with rat drippings, the spark plug wires were chewed by rats, the a/c compresser was no good. I had to put over $5,000.00 into this so called safety ready van he took my toyota Corolla with absolutely nothing wrong with it.
I also had to have new tires put on the minivan one lug was missing on each tire and a stud had to be replaced. The windhield wipers all three of them had been chewed by rats & had I had to have them replaced, the windhield washer tubes had been chewed by rats also, I gave hime written notice August 5 that he should reimburse me for the money I had to spend so far on this minivan because of his lies. But, he just ignores the issue.
Also, he tried to keep $1,045.00 that I paid June 26 for a warranty for some of the repairs that might be needed in the 1st year. I found out that none of the automotive repair places where I had to take the minivan will accept the warranty. So, I tried to cancel the warranty from Guardian Warranty except then I found out that Carlos Morales owner of Magic Auto never sent the money in. He in fact kept this money for over a month plus another $15.00 overpayment on my registration fees.
It took me until Aug. 3 to get this money back from him. I had to stop there numerous times and make numerous phone calls & I finally got the money back. But I say he was trying to steal this money. There was also no Buyers Guide on the side window of the minivan stating the mechanical condition of the minivan.
The Federal Trade Commission forbids Used Car Dealers from misrepresenting the Mechanical condition of a used vehicle. Also requires the buyers guide be posted. The federal trade commission also forbids used car dealers from using unfair & deceptive practice. Magic Auto Carlos and Herb Morales owners of Magic Auto hid dangerous defects about the above mentioned minivan. Their dealership should be thoughly investigated and if possible closed down.
I know if they did this to me, they must have done it before and will continue unless something is done to stop them. All, of the above happened to me June 26. I DO have all of the above-mentioned rat chewed wires and parts in my garage as evidence. I forgot to mention that the throttle (cruise control) had to be replaced by me also, chewed by rats
