Please who ever is thinking about working for Work Opportunities WOU, be aware of the company. First off, they lied to me during my interview stating tons of false information regarding my job duties. Secondly, they have so called "holidays" which turn into training days. Most people they serve do NOT have jobs and are driven around by staff, just to be outside their houses during the day. WOU mission is focused on money and that is it. They do not care about the clients they serve and do not even have meetings that focus on clients who have developmental, psych, or emotional behavioral disabilities.
Also, the hours of the job are insane. They state to you that you can work anytime during the week and you can make your own schedule. That is NOT the case, be aware again. You will work from 7 until 8 at night. And then be expected to work the next day a full 8 hours. The web site also has false information on it as well, as they do NOT have job developers who search for jobs for clients, etc.
The managers, lie straight to your face and do not care about the clients they serve. Be very very aware of this company as it is goign down hill fast. Some staff have told me that they feel like they are TAXI drivers, taking these developmentally challenged adults on "rides" and transporting them day to day to different job sites, instead of setting up job sites for them.
Also, heard that the staff DO NOT get raises and will stay at the same pay for a long time even with negotiation with management.
One more thing, if I have not stated it above, you will be forced to work weekends and if not you are not a "team player" by management and if you do not hit your "outcomes" you will have a horrible review and most likely get fired.
Since working at WOU, there must be at least more than 10 people in over 6 months that quit or got fired due to the bad management. But of course WOU does not see the turnove rate as a problem, they lied to me as well during my interview stating there was a low turnover rate.
Also, you are made to drive all over the state of Massachusetts. This is a warning for anyone trying to get their foot in the door of Vocational Rehabilitation. There are a lot of other companies out there that are better off than WOU. Hope this helps someone down the future.
