A kid came to my door claiming he was from the local high school soccer team, raising money for scholarships by selling magazine subscriptions. I bought two subscriptions for $99 (which would include the donation, supposedly).
A few months go by and no magazines come, I forget about it for another month or two but then I remember I should be getting these subscriptions, I check the receipt and it says I should have received magazines within 120 days. I try to call the phone number on the receipt but I got an "after business hours" message. So I tried calling the next business day, and I get an "out of service" message so I try again... But this time I keep getting busy messages!
I'm sure I should have checked it out earlier but the kid seemed to be sincere and of the right age to be in high school.
