Ripoff and still tries to debit account after canceling my computer orde

I saw the advertisement on TV and was ver amazed at how easy it was to get a computer. I called and the rep explained to me that I would get a 2005 Brand New Gateway Laptop Computer complete with Windows XP and bonuses such as a color printer, Playstation 2 & Webcam free if I took the offer. He explained to me that I would be making 1 monthly pymt of 99.99 paying it off in 8 months. This made the computer total around 900.00.

I gave him all of my information and he told me I had to make a deposit in order to complete the order which seemed odd, because I had not signed anything. Well, when I recv'd the invoice and the total invoice said around $2900.00.

I was outraged! I called and immediately canceled. I got the run around from a customer service rep. They tried to lower my bi-weekly payments. Well, I was not told originally that I would have to pay BI-WEEKLY payments of $99.99. They never canceled my order and still tried to debit my account for the bi-weekly payments. They thought they were slick and ran the debit for a different amount. Make sure you put a STOP PAYMENT on your acct. For the amt. That is to be debited. Complete those bank forms stop payments in their entirety and then close it all together.

Well, I took precaution and had a feeling they were going to do that. So, I closed my account all together, which is what I hope most people do whenever this happens. I knew I could do this with working in banking for 10 years. All your bank could do is send the ACH debit back to the bank it comes from. It would just show up as a closed acct. Nothing lost.

However, I forwarded the case to my lawyer to get my deposit back of $129.00. They said it was non-refundable but they decieved me by the price. They didn't hold their end up. Total ripoff! This is crazy that they can run full commercials with real people and get away with it. I'm sure they have literally ripped off millions of dollars from people. I have learned my lesson. If it's too good to be true when it comes to "no credit", it usually is.

I hope I help someone. So when something goes wrong, CLOSE THOSE ACCOUNTS! It doesn cost a thing to tell your bank someone got a hold to your acct.info and you need to open a new one.
