I lived in a year of hell in a duplex rented out to me by a man named Fred Fanning.
When we moved in, lots of areas in the duplex were supposed to be repaired (at his word) but never were! It was like pulling teeth trying to contact him, when we did we were unsuccessful in getting a response.
Our home had a basement, which had a window that was broken and when we moved in, and we were told it would be replaced asap.
Our slumlord whom we contacted several times on this matter asked us to call his repairman and to lie for him and say someone had tried to break into our home and to come quick to make the necessary repair. No repair man ever showed??? Our slum lord never contacted us again, and we had to make the repairs ourself, in fear that someone would break in!
Basically tons of other things that were broken (refrig, tile not finished, bathroom not finished, basement full of dirt and cracked floors, there was misc. Junk laying around the basement that was supposed to be disposed of) he was aware of the damages that needed to be fixed!
He also invaded our privacy by allowing random strangers to have a key to our home! They came in and looked around to "fix" all the repairs, but never did. The idea of a stranger with a key to my home, was terrifying.
Now we have finally moved out and are trying to get our security deposit back from him, he is blaming us for damage that was previously done. AND CHARGING US FOR IT.$
This guy is a lying scum bag! I would not advise anyone in their right mind to ever rent from him. His name... Once again is Fred Fanning... Everything this man tells you is lies... Do not believe him... As a former tenant of his, I am just wanting everyone who rents to steer clear from this SLUMLORD!!!
