I was hired to work at century 21 A&H realty, as the office assistant. My duties included, making appointments, creating files, answering phones, odd jobs, and advertising. I also redesigned the company website and maintained it. I held this position for about 5 months. I was paid $7.50 an hour.
After about 5 months I had to leave because I was moving to another state. I made a verbal agreement with the company to maintain the website as well as give technical support. We agreed on a payment of $150 per month.
This lasted for about 3 months and at the end of the 3rd month I was notified that my services where no longer needed because they switched to a website that they can maintain themselves. The company claimed to not have any money to pay me and that my last payment would be sent within 2 - 3 weeks.
I never received any payment. I contacted the company and asked about my payment. I was then notified that the company would put a stop on the paycheck that they claimed to have sent earlier and mail me out another one. It has been almost another month since I was told this and it is very apparent that I will not receive any payment for my services.
