We bought a daylight floor lamp from Bell and Howell using our Visa credit card.
Three month later, a company calling itself NP Media charged us for some telephone card
We never ordered nor received.
When we telephoned the company, after a considerable run-around because the first phone number we go was not valid, we were informed that NP Media charged us for something we supposedly ordered when we bought the floor lamp from Bell and Howell.
More phone calls later, we were assured that it all was a mistake and a refund would be made to our visa account. That was last June.
After receiving the next visa statement that did not show any credit for the unjustified charges made against our account, I phoned NP Media again and was told that an effort had been made to reimburse us, but that Visa has refused the reimbursement.
But now, they were going to send me a check.
The next phone call, a month later, I was told that for reasons unknown the check that had been sent to us had been returned to them as undeliverable. Yes, yes, the address was correct. They would try again.
The next time I called, there had been a problem with their computer, but the check is in the mail. We are still waiting. Other people seem to have similar problems with NP Media.
My last conversation with a agent of the NP Media got me the address of the owner in Thousand Oak, CA. I send him a letter which was returned to me as recipient not known
Visa told me that I would have to settle with the offending company.
