I started the process of a loan modification with S C Law Group back in 2012. They wanted 2 payments up front of $1,750 before they would send the mortgage company the paperwork for a modification loan. My mortgage company "supposedly" rec'd the paperwork Feb 15. S C Law Group stopped contacting me as soon as they had my money. After 7 months of calling and sending e-mails with no response, I contacted my mortgage company. The mortgage company stated that S C Law Group stopped responding to them in April so the case was closed. S C Law Group called me periodically in June and said all was well and I should be hearing something soon. Since June, noone from SC Law Group has returned my calls or e-mails. The phone numbers are not working now and various e-mails are kicked back. I am out $3,500 and now starting the process all over again with my mortgage company. I plan on reporting this to the appropriate gov't office as a scam under the Obama Home Modification Program. I hope they catch the guy and hang him out to dry for screwing so many people out of their money.
