I was issued 2 phone nbrs for 29.99 each. They were suppose to save us long distance charges. I got 1 # working and I received a couple calls before the # was blocked by the correction facility down in San Diego. And my son was not able to make calls any more using that # so we had to pay long distance charges. The Securus Correctional billing services told me "For security reasons we do not allow calls to go through call diverters. Calls from jails need to be secure and investigators need to be able to audit and track calls to recipients; therefore there are strict rules about how calls can be routed outside of correctional facilities. We have detected that you are using a call diversion scheme to terminate calls; therefore, your usage has been blocked" they also stated that "Jail call Services is not a authorized phone provider. They sold you a phone number so that you can get a cheaper rate or unlimited calls.
The calls are forwarded from the number they gave you to your phone number. Calls from a correctional facility are not allowed to be forwarded" I ask them if I was scammed and there reply was "Yes you were scammed. I sent a msg requesting a refund of $29.99 x2 but don't think that will happen. All the other damages were from having to pay long dist charges. I also see that they have allot of complaints on the BBB site. Of which they are not a member.
