I recieved a call from the Civil Investigations Unit about a claim on a delinquent credit card from 2005. I call the number they gave me which was (617) 600-4177 and the company name on the phone was Central Processing Network. They informed me I had a $937 delinquent credit card from Orchard State Bank that I was going to get a subpoena the next day unless I settle out of court for $500. Luckily, this sounded odd to me and I researched my credit score and the company to find out what had happened. They used the scare tactic of going to court to try to get me to settle for only paying $500 when I actually owed them nothing. This kind of stuff needs to be stopped or a lot of people who do not know better than to look up their credit report will be scammed for a lot of money. Please find a way to stop this.
