Dr. Thornton contacted me through email about one month ago. He offered me a position as a secret shopper and said that I was being evaluated, but if I passed, would I be interested in the position.
It sounded like a scam from the beginning, but he didn't ask for money or personal information, so I played along to see what would happen, and also to not be judgemental before hearing all the facts.
He never told me how he was evaluating me, only that I passed, and he was sending me a check for $1950 along with instructions for the job.
The check never arrived, and after a few days, he began to threaten me that he was going to report me to authorities.
I mentioned that for that amount, he should have sent the funds by courier and required a signature. He never addressed that suggestion, but today he proceeded to threaten me.
I responded that I would welcome an investigation and will also make a report to authorities.
