There was a lady that called me saying that I was eligible for a government grant for my education. It was hard for me to tell what accent she had but it might have been an Indian accent and she called herself Cantria Gomez. She needed my visa card number and said that a fee was needed of $3.87 and then a fee of $19.95 would be needed for a $1 million insurance policy. She sounded very legit with other callers in the background and all of the information that I could tell she was reading. She gave me a confirmation number, asked for my email and my phone number. She also gave me a number to call in case I had any questions, 1-800-558-0064. I haven't gotten an email from her which she said she will do right away and I needed to open it right away. I felt very stupid once I realized what I had done, but I reckon it's a $23.82 lesson learned. No matter if it sounds legitimate, don't give ANY information over the phone!!!
