Approached by Michael Borovitz at baggage claim, with story that he was recent grad of Penn State in Chem Eng, had come out to SF for interview with Dupont, got the job in some sort of technical sales and stayed for the weekend, got to airport too late to clear security in time for flight, said Southwest could not rebook him until tomorrow, and he had used up the $1000 that he came with other than $100 being used to rebook, and needed $200-300 for the night. Spouted some accurate terms from Chem E, talked about being a good and reliable Jewish kid, talked about another guy who reassured him that he had kids of similar age and was going to lend him the money, but the ATM was broken in that terminal, offered to send back extra money (which I declined), etc. Got to admit it seemed a little fishy, but I'm a Chem E and he talked some appropriate talk, so I decided to take a flyer on him. He provided phone and email and address info. Got home and decided to look him up via Linked In or Facebook, and discovered the thread on him and track record of similar scams. Ouch...
