I applied online for a payday loan. I got a call saying I was approved for 1000-10,000 dollar loan. I said just need $2000 and was told I had to have $200 to show that I could make $200 payment for 14 months. So I traveled the 35 miles to a Walmart to put the $200 on a green dot moneypak card. I gave "Jason/Mark" the number and was told in 15 minutes the $2000 would be in my account. After 15 minutes there was no money in my account and when I call "Jason/Mark" back he told me the FTC had "red flagged" my ssn and it would cost another $200 to get the "red flag" off. I said no and asked for the number to the FTC so I could ask what was going on. He said FTC doesn't talk to customers and that he would switch me over to them. This is when "Mark/Jason" comes on the line saying for $200 more to unflag my ssn they would give me $2500. I said no and hung up googled the FTC and found out I had been suckered. "Jason/Mark" called back and said if I didn't give the $200 the FTC was going to fine me a $1000 and take it from my bank account. While I was on the phone my wife closed our bank account and put a freeze on my ssn.
They got $200, but that was all. I sure needed that $200 and $2000
