Target Minute Clinic
Incorrect Diagnosis

Hi everyone my name is Laura and now I am 12 years old. I was 11 when this happened. For about a month I complained to my mom about intense itching on my head. My mom looked at my head thinking maybe its lice or dandruff. She saw nothing and said it will probably go away. About 2 weeks later we went to the Target minute clinic because it never went away. We went there and the girl checked my head and said she saw nothing. She said there was little bits on my back which I forgot to mention but I also had little bites on my back. She said i had little bites about right where my hair came to my back. She started thinking and said that she knew what I had. She said that I was allergic to Selfate in the shampoo and conditioner. She asked what shampoo i used and I used suave at the time. My mom and I were so counfused I had being using Selfate shampoos my whole life pretty much! We got a Selfate free shampoo but itching did not stop. I couldn't take it anymore so we bought a lice treatment kit just to try it out. Tried it we were outraged!!! We found about 50 louses in my hair!!! And about 100 eggs! People might comment on here well lice are hard to see! Well I think if you can't find lice in a child's hair you should not work at a minute clinic! That is probably the easiest thing you have to diagnose. Thank you for reading
