I saw a news paper advertisement for a full mattress and box spring for a price of $257.00. When I arrived at The Mattress Firm the sales person asked if she could help me. I said yes that I had seen the ad and was interested in buying the mattress that was advertised at $257.00. The sales clerk said she did not know anything about it and asked a co-worker if he had the advertisement he replied that the store only gets one copy and that a customer had taken it.
The sales clerk then proceeded to show me another set that was on sale at a price of $130.00 more than the one I had gone in to buy, never even showing me the set I had come in for. I returned to the store the next day and told them that I thought it was a bait and switch or at the very least deceptive advertisement. The clerk
showed me the cheaper set saying that that is how they get people into the store. Upon showing me the more inexpensive set I would not have purchased it anyway due to the poor quality. I do hope someone can handle my complaint and put them on notice of their company practice being illegal. If I need to get an Attorney to do so please let me know. What should my next course of action be in this matter?
