Consumers Energy is known for their aggressive door to door sales calls. I've had multiple Ontario Consumers sales reps come to my door claiming they needed to see my hot water tank and obtain the serial number and that it was my obligation to allow them entry. As I asked for ID and who they were representing they claimed they were with my current service provided which is not at all true as I am with Direct Energy via Enbridge. The rep then proceds to show my a badge that has a little "high efficiency" symbol on it and expects me to roll out the red carpet. Any company that trains their sales staff the conduct business like this by misleading the public should be put out of business. Avoid Ontario Consumers in the GTA specifically Toronto at all costs as they are a 100% underhanded group.
