I received a phone call today claiming to be from a company supposedly called PCS, some kind of legal firm at 347-933-6008, from "John Smith" with a deep Spanish accent. He called and left a threatening message for me and I returned the call.
"John Smith" claimed that Cash Advance USA has filed suit against me for allegedly taking out a payday loan in November but not repaying it. I never took out a payday loan from this company and was not even familiar with them.
I checked my bank account information while on the phone with "John Smith" and asked him which date that the loan was taken out and there was no deposit into my bank account from them anywhere near that time.
He claimed that Cash Advance USA loaned me $300 and then attempted to deduct it from my bank account but it was returned as insufficient funds. That is not true because I have not had insufficient funds and I never even took out a loan from them.
I asked him for the information, loan no., Cash Advance USA's phone no., case no., and he refused to give it to me and became beligerant and threatened me with arrest, loss of job, and just about everything else under the sun unless I paid him this amount right then. I also asked him for credentials and he refused to give me any information about his "company" PCS.
I finally hung up.
