I had an appointment phone interview on the 6th of April. No one ever called. My food stamps go on, on the 5th of every month. They didn't call until the 8th. She said to get everything in which I did. I reapplied in March and had to reapply again when she called me on the 8th. It is now the 5th of May and my food stamps were supposed to be there but when I finally got a hold of someone they said they have 30 days to approve the case. Well I am pregnant and diabetic, have my husband, my daughter and my 9 month old son to feed. My husband and daughter can eat what we have left which we have run out of most of the food but I can't because I am on a special diet so now I have to go a few days with barely eating because I have no way of getting food. I was told to call united way to get help but they do not have any where that I can get food for my diet and most places want a referral from Hamilton County and they wouldn't even do that for me. So now I have to eat my sons baby food that I got from WIC until I get food stamps whenever that will happen because I can not eat a lot of carbs in my diet and the baby food is the only safe option I have to be able to keep my blod sugar down. I just don't understand why a pregnant person who has been getting food stamps for a couple years has to be put on hold until the case worker lets the 30 days to go by before they decide to approve the case. If I didn't need them I would not be on them and I have no family members to help us out and we are both out of jobs right now because we have no vehicle and no way to get to a job because they cut our bus line off and we would have to walk 5 miles to the closest bus stop.
