The Justin Hair and Nail Salon do not clean any of their nail equipment. It is reused person after person. Each person has a box that they keep their equipment in but it is never cleaned. They have an old broken looking equipment cleaning machine that is never used. It is over the nail drying table in a corner that is not accessible on a regular basis. The bowls that you soak your nails in are never rinsed out after each person’s use. They simply throw the water into the foot soaking drain where they do pedicures and place it back in the stack with all the other of all dirty bowls. The nail driers where you place your hands under to dry your nails are never cleaned off one person to the next.
The owner Jimmy washes his face and hair and blows his nose with his hands into the hair washing bowls. Then uses one of the red color towels to dry off with.instead of throwing the towel in the dirty towel pile he puts back into circulation for the hairdressers to use by placing back on the shelf with the unused or clean towel. He never washes the sink out after he blows his nose into it. The store's bathroom is missing tiles on the floor, there is no hot water for washing hands after using the toilet and sometimes there is no soap and most times there is no paper towels to dry your hands. Many of the workers come out of the bathroom after they use the toilet and wash their hands in the shampoo bowls use the hair towel to dry their hands but they do throw their towels into the dirty pile. None of the manicurists or pedicurists washes their hands in between each customer. The pedicure bowls are rarely washed out between customers accept when you ask them to and the brush they use to clean the foot soaking tub with is old and worn out and is dirty. They use the foot soaking powder to wash the tub out they do not have or use any type of disinfectant. All the pedicure equipment is old and needs to be replaced. The leg rest used during the pedicure is old dirty and the leather is broken. And underneath that break in the leather is foam that I am sure is harboring bacteria. The knives used to cut the callus during a pedicure is never washed or sanitized in between each customer. They simply swish it around in the used and dirty pedicure water and throw it back in the box to be used by the next pedicure customer. They do change the blade between customers. All other pedicure instruments are reused without cleaning as well. The pedicure foot rests are also torn and the chairs for the back massage during the pedicure are usually broken.
They also have bugs flying around. Small white type that are scabies. The hair drier is very old and its chair is so torn up they covered it with an auto plastic seat cover. It is terrible and I am sure bugs and bacteria are harbored in that seat as well.in the winter he doesn't want to put the heat on and in the summer he doesn't want to put the air conditioner on. Many times the AC is broken and he doesn't fix it. He put one floor fan on when the hairdressers and their customers complain of the heat. The owner Jimmy is very cheap and does not want to spend money on anything. His shop should be closed down and he should be issued a violation for poor hygiene and sanitation practices.
