I have a very similar issue as Complaint 200049. I applied for additional funds on April 1. I had to get it approved by a financial aid advisor first before my $2000.00 additional funds could be approved. I was approved the next morning. I received communication for the Department of Education that funds were approved on April 15. I was originally told on the phone it would take 3-4 weeks to receive a check. It has been 4 weeks and my check has not yet been cut. I have been told conflicting information from the financial aid department. I was told last week that my check was going to be cut on Friday and mailed the same day. Today I was told my loan is 67% done and I would not get a check until May 6. I am being charged 6.80% now on funds I have not received. Financial aid has not given a reasonable explanation as to why the process takes so long or why they have been holding the check for so long. I asked to have the funds wired to me and they stated they could not do this. I find this unacceptable that funds I was approved for and being charged interest on are sitting in their bank account while I am being charged interest. The financial aid department seems to not care nor provide a reason why this is happening
