Our family has been trying to get John Hancock begin covering the $70 per day coverage for our moms expenses at the Assisted Living she has moved into this past September. According to the policy she has been paying a premium on since 1999- if she met the criteria stated in her policy they would cover $70 per day of her living expenses in a ALF. However our family has dealt with every possible excuse why she has not received payments at all. We have been kept on hold up to 30 minutes, never get tospeak to same person twice, they have told us we needed to send additional information but only found out because we called them - they didnt notify us, and misrouted paperwork that now we are being told will delay process another month! Our family has sent a letter to the Board of Directors of JHI and IL State Senator besides contacting an attorney. Shame on JHI for claiming to be a reputable insurance company. Appears they are in the business of scamming senior citizens!
