I had 3 web loans that I had been paying a total of over 700 dollars a month and a pay day loan consolidation company contacted me saying that they most likely are not legal to give loans in my state I they could help me. The first thing I had to do is close my bank account. After doing so I researched and found I could handle this on my own. I was told that they have to contact me in writing and they never did. Just recently I getting harrasing calls from someone claiming to want to serve me with papers and to meet them somewhere. I told the lady I didn't know what this was about and she gave me a number to call. I called and they told me that I closed my bank account on purpose and I owe them 1,000 dollars I told them I didn't owe them that much and informed I'm going to seek legal counsel, she tried convince not to do that and I asked how much is my settement and she told me over 900 dollars. I've already given these people almost the entire amount that I borrowed and is not fair for me to pay that amount. From my understanding I shouldn't owe them more than 300 dollars they are insisting on getting interest and fees from me and now I have to deal with harrassing phone calls everday.
