I have been looking for English Bulldog Puppies for months now. I was going through and started emailing one woman and decided it was fraud after she couldn't answer my questions and kept repeating herself. I would have driven 6 hours to see the puppies but she insisted on me using a transportation service.
Then I started looking else where. I found two english bulldog puppies and every email I sent to this man was responded and had legitimate answers. I was convinced it was real. So after a long amount of emails and looking up Uship the transportation service I thought everything was fine.
I sent the information he asked for and then later received an email in my junk file. I thought that was odd. Then I received a phone call from a man with an accent. That also threw me off but then I just told myself that such a thing is usual these days. So I went ahead and sent 500$ which I was told was normal for transportation of pets from my friends so I felt more secure. I was told to be careful and I didn't listen. The puppies were supposed to arrive at my doorstep with no additional costs. Then when I called the number back the puppies were held in Garden City, Kansas due to not having insurance. They said if I didn't pay then they couldn't deliver my puppies any further plus I would be charged for abandonment and mistreatment. Then they were held because of the weather which made sense because I checked the forecast and there was snow between us. So yesterday morning I sent another 500$ for insurance which they said I would be refunded at time of arrival they just needed to make the papers so they could get past the pet bureau. Then everything was fine and they supposably made it to Bentonville, AR which is only 2 hours away. Now they want me to pay a fee for papers allowing them to move the puppies through the city. Everything they send an email they always use backups and laws. The emails always seem very upfront and honest. What got me was how real they made them. I asked to go pick the puppies up and they said they wouldn't be able to release them to me without my payment. I am extremely upset because I knew better.
After looking into all the companies that I've heard over the phone I've started even more research than before. Most of the companies are real but they aren't actually going through the companies like they say. Most of the companies say that you don't have to pay until pick up of the pet. I wish I would have been more open to my surroundings telling me not to go through with this process. I'm not sure what to do now. I have kept all the emails even the ones from the original "owner" of the puppies which I'm sure don't even exist.
This is why I never do business online or over the phone. I was expecting to only pay 500$ for 2 puppies which was a great deal especially for the breed when I could have bought 1 puppy for 1000$ which would have saved me 78$ for the transfer fees. I thought that was too much for one dog but now I have no dogs. A loss of 1078$. I should have known better.
