I get a phone call from an unknown number, I answer and immediatly tell them to remove me from their calling list as they had already called me numerous times that day and I had ignored the call. She was very insistant at telling me why she was trying to call. She told me that I had been entered in to a sweepstakes for Publisher's clearing house by mastercard and that I was also being sent a real diamond watch for being a preffered Mastercard customer. I was very skeptical and didn't really trust her but she didn't ask for any credit card info or anything and she seemed so professional so I bought into it. Then she tried selling me magazines, when i told her that I don't read magazines she transferred me to her "supervisor" so that I could get some awesome coupons. So then the "supervisor" comes on the phone and starts telling me about this $100 Petro gas coupon she's sending me and that all I have to do is take a look at 2 offers and if I don't want them I can cancel them but if I do want them I'll be charged $17.83 a month. All i had to pay now was the $3.90 S&H fee. So then she asks me for my cc info. I told her that I'mnot giving it out over the phone. Then she went into a speil about how I have fraud insurance and blah blah blah, I'm protected against any illegal activity. So she finally talked me into it. I gave it to her, she recorded part of our conversation (to protect her when I tell my cc company that I didn't authorize this charge) and that was that. She gave me a phone number that i could call her back on, gave me her employee number and her first name. Made it seem legit. After we hung up i felt very uneasy about it so I called my CC company. They assured me that they do not give out the names of their customers to anyone and that I probably was scammed. (all the while I was thinking the same thing deep down as I was talking to this woman) All they took was $2.40. That's all they will get too as I quickly cancelled my cc. I feel dumb for falling for this and would like to warn others. Needless to say, I'll never see the watch or gas vouchers they promised me. Lol
