Date Occurred: 06/14 Reported Damages:$2,430.00 Username: Debra and john roberts Email: [email protected] Location: minot nd I was looking on craigslist for a car to buy and I came across a 2004 Toyota celica. The car looked very clean and she had a sad story about loosing her job and needed cash to pay bank loans. The car could retail up to 8000 dollars. Anyway I emailed her and she got back with me the next day with an email stating that the car is in Minot ND and that she was asking 2200.00 for the car and that her husband works for an auto shipping company and the delivery price was under 300 dollars, instant red flag to me, so I started to investigate out of curiousness and found that she had scammed someone else through ebay protection program, I found his post on your web site and how he was scammed. Thank you scambook. The car looked like it was test drove from a car lot because it had protective plastic floor mats in it like dealerships use. They drove it to a park and took pictures of it and then posted them on photo bucket instead of e bay. RED FLAG again and also had a white cover over the rear license plate, the car was white so it made it look like no plate was on it. The inspection sticker on the windshield expires 11, but I could not zoom in close enough to read what state it was from. The car can be seen on photobucket.com/albums/s440/ToyotaCelicaGT? Start=all. I hope someone catches these folks, in some of the pictures there are billboards couldnt read them though they were blurry when zooming in on them. Thanks scam book for not letting me be taken for a ride.
