I applied for a loan on-line from Expressloansnow.com, they claim to have an office in Calgary, AB. After applying for the loan, I rec'd an e-mail telling me that I was approved and a Ms. Doran would be contacting me. I was given a toll free number to call if I had any questions. The e-mail was signed " American Civil Lending" BUT a google search of the number comes up as " Waterstone Loan Brokers", I then searched Waterstone loan brokers only to see a whole bunch of complaints about people who have been ripped off. Sure enough, Ms. Doran called the next day and I listened to her offer and it was identical to the ones that I read about, " paying 4 months up front" and " purchasing extra insurance' for the private lender that she couldnt name. I told her I wasn't intersted. I then pulled a copy of my credit report (s) and they hadn't even checked my credit, BUT she said they had. My credit is actually not that bad and I have means of borrowing legitimately. But I feel sorry for the ones who don't and have been taken by these crooks.
