I had applied for a loan online a few days ago, I then received a call from this company on number: 02081445857 loans4uk at 2pm on saturday the 15th December saying I had been accepted for a loan of £1000 for either 1 or 2 years.
The guy had woken me up from sleeping and talked that quick it took a while for me to catch on to what he was saying, when I eventually did he had my bank account number and sort code.
He then asked me to go to a pay point and get a ukash voucher of £110, I then refused to do this as there should not be an upfront fee for a loan.
Upon refusal of doing this the guy that I spoke to began to get angry saying the loan had already been logged in my name and that if I didn't give him the voucher code of £110 he was going to seek legal action and just take the money from my account anyway.
When I challenged him about the details he had provided me with he kept saying "you want an unsecured loan, you have agreed to this, I work with the British consul, I will go and take legal action against you, I have your bank details, I will take the money anyway."
So then I told the guy that it is not possible for him to take legal action against me as the application had not been completed, I had not signed or verbally agreed to any contract between myself and this company not to mention he failed to provide me with a call recording statement at the beginning of the call.
He replied with "I did tell you I was recording the call and told you I was working with British consul and I will call you back at 2.30pm for the voucher number, if you do not have the number I will take legal action. BYE."
It is now nearly an hour since this phone call ended, I have not received a call back.
I have informed my bank as the only thing he can do is set up a direct debit which has not been signed for in anyway.
Next stop FSA. Do not give this company ANYTHING!!!
