U.S. Uniformed Servicemember Discrimination

I was hired at Macy's as a sales associate, and the mangers had full knowledge that I was a reserve U.S. Air Force officer. I received orders sooner than expected and courtiously informed my department manager, Laura Lawler, three weeks out while I was working a shift. I told her that I could work for two more weeks, so she gave me a HR form to fill out and turn in when I was ready to give my official two weeks notice. Without my knowledge, Laura went to Delores in HR that same day and told her to terminate my job effective immediately because I was going active duty. I was completely unaware of that. I noticed discrepencies in my schedule and Macy's card the following days. I have proof of my previous scheduled hours. When I called Delores in HR to inquire about the issues, she was rude and unproffesional. I found out about what happened on their end, and I explained to her the truth. She didn't offer to fix it until I demanded it, and she couldn't guarantee the same job or hours that I previously held. Upon expressing my dread for working in a place that would treat me as such, Delores said good bye and hung up. This treatment was discgraceful to the company and illegal because I am protected under U.S. Law as a uniformed service member. I would like to see a comment from Macys upon hearing of this incident, and I want to see something done to improve managment and HR services at this location.
