Buyer Beware of Scam Artists Investigate this company before doing business with them

Last month (Sep 2004) I ordered a Toshiba Notebook Computer from them, based on their relatively OK rating. The reason I went with them over a higher rated company was because their website stated they shipped to APO/FPO addresses. About a week later, I received an e-mail from Robby L. To call him to confirm my order. Since we are military stationed overseas, I asked that he call me, or furnish me with an 800 number. No reply. No reply. No reply. So, I sent another e-mail, asking if he had received my previous e-mail with my phone number, which I provided again. Again nothing. After a few weeks, I finally got fed up and e-mailed Robby. Sensing they didn't want to waste money phoning me in a 3rd world country, I asked him if they treated all their customers this way, or just those of us on the front lines, living in places where we just can't go out and buy a computer?" To this he replied:

"Sorry but I cant call an international phone number nor can I ship to an APO address and don't try and put the guilt on me of you being on the front line. Your order has been cancelled."

Once I received that, I knew in my gut that something wasn't right with this company. I made a few inquiries online and found that this company is BAD BAD BAD! Evidently, one of their ploys is to lure you into calling their number ON YOUR DIME. After lengthy holds and cut-offs, they bait & switch, try to put on a hard sell, or reneg on the order. Don't take my word for it. Please, research them for yourself! It's not pretty! I felt sickened that I allowed myself to be drawn in by ratings of them, but relieved that my order was cancelled... By them!!!

I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I don't know if it'll go anywhere, since the purchase was not actually made. But looking at the report on the BBB website (http://www.bbbnewyork.org), I think that people just basically vent their frustrations out on forums, and leave it at that. They need to follow up with a complaint with the BBB. I don't know that enough formal complaints can shut them down, like they need to be, but it might severely inpact their income if people knew how awful they really are.in essence, they would shut themselves down. I don't know what kind of business Diane Bahar (owner of BigOnDigital) thinks she's running, but it's certainly one the world can do without!

Please, reward ethical businesses that focus on customer good will with your patronage. It's usually just a few dollars more, but it's worth every extra penny to have your purchase handled by the most trustworthy, customer-oriented businesses out there. They are there, and you will never find the hideous reviews with them, like you will with the Rip-Off Artist's and Scams, such as BigOnDigital!
