The rip-off is people playing Diablo 3 game purchase items with stats and fixes that are set to alter the characters the player has in a game.
Blizzard continually patches the items and affixes and changes the items bought to be worthless and whatever character a person purchases items for is constantly re-programmed to be less affective and forcing the person to buy even more items to compensate for the loss.
It's a form of selling something and then altering it later on and taking away the effectiveness that it once had and not offering anything in return.
If i bought a power drill with attachments at a hardware store and then 2 weeks later they came and took some of the attachments back because they said they thought i had gotten too good of a deal that is what is happening with the Diablo 3 game and the real money auction house in game.
Dealing with Blizzard is impossible because they have you submit an online ticket with set word phrases that don't allow you to enter a viable complaint. They will usually contact you via email with much wording to try and soften the blow.
If this were just the fake in-game gold then who cares but when real money is involved it becomes another issue.
Items that no longer perform as intended because of re-programming and patching the game should be refunded or compensated for when dealing with actual USA currency.
