Likely scammmers

Got a cold call from these people on 9/7. I had previously gotten a call from a similar scammer, claiming using misleading language to imply he worked for Microsoft and was acting as support for them to fix a problem with my computer - but he wasn't trying very hard. Calling back his number went to his cell phone or something and he was caught cold.

These people are much more sophisticated. They will direct you to enter a long string into a google search and note their presence in the rankings (which, of course, you can buy, and the string is so long, it was probably up for sale pretty cheap). The links they point out direct you to their website, which of course any hacker can build, which sings their praises. The reviews section points to an empty web page (no reviews anyway). They have also created a page of phony reviews on blogspot to try to look legit. Every review has an American sounding name (Neil Johnson, Dave Thomson, etc.), but every one was either written by a foreigner, or by someone that dumped school prior after 6th grade - obvious fakes.

They have also taken the trouble to push several slick looking videos up to various filesharing sites to make themselves look legit.

I don't buy any of it. If they were legitimate, I would be able to find them reviewed by industry websites, magazines, etc. And would be able to find reviews (other than scam reports) someplace other than where they could easily have placed them.

Never let anyone who calls you convince you to download software to your computer or give up credit info! Legitimate companies do not operate this way!!
