I bought a emachine computer as advertised on tv which included a $300.00 rebate. The catch was the sales clerk never mentioned to save the boxes as you have to have the barcodes from the boxes in order to redeem your rebates. No box barcodes, no rebate. Although it was printed on the receipt, that particular day it was pouring rain and I had to buy a new computer to accomodate my new internet service. We spent much of the day unloading the computer, setting up and getting connected never giving any thought to the receipt.
I feel that it was the sales clerks responsibility as an employee of Circuit City to inform us of all the details concerning the rebate. When I discovered that I was no longer entitled to my rebate they informed me I could return the computer for a fifteen percent restocking fee. This fee would have been about $150.00 just for restocking my return. Circuit City has just lost me as a customer.in addition, there is no survey to take in order to win a $1000 gift card! Give me a break!
