EPower & Profits, LLC fraud, rip off, overcharging, scam, unreliable, nonresponsive

On July 2, I noticed an infomercial hosted by Chuck Woolery, of "Love Connection" fame, for the ePower and Profits "Make a fortune on eBay" computer program. It contained a video showing an overview of the things that came in the kit.

It contained three CD-ROMS, which it said were supposed to help you get set up to run auctions on eBay and also a short book entitled, "Strike It Rich on eBay", which was written by a person who supposedly made millions on eBay.

I am disabled and can't work, so I decided to get this kit to see if I could get a home-based business up and running. I used my VISA check card so that I could get the kit soon.

The operator asked me if I would like the VIP auction package, which would give me access to other auction sites. She said it would be an additional 29.95 (the price of the kit was $29.95 $9.95 shipping and handling). I told her that I didn't want that option.

Then, she asked me if I wanted the express shipping option where I would get the kit in 2 - 3 days. She told me that they were running a special on the shipping. I told her that I would just take the regular delivery. She told me that it would be delivered to me in 2 - 3 days.

Two weeks later, I received the package. I immediately checked my bank account to see if the money was taken out for the kit. To my surprise, ePower had taken out the money plus the extra $29.95

I immediately called ePower and talked to a customer representative who told me that she would cancel the VIP package for me, but she said that she wasn't authorized to give me a refund. She told me I would need to talk to the billing department about that.

So, I talked with Chris in the billing department, who told me that I would receive a refund in 10 business days. To this very day, despite emailing, faxing information that Chris requested (due to the fact that my account received $75 in overdraft fees due to this happy little mishap!), calling, and even sending a priority mail letter to the director of Internet Technology, I am out over $100.

I have just recently contacted the California Attorney General, the FBI, the FTC, the FCC, the Better Business Bureau (after I found the ePower and Profits has two different address locations in both Torrance and Campbell, CA - Torrence is the main deal), and the IFCCFBI (they handle internet fraud complaints).

I decided that if they would not respond to me, that I would raise as much stink as possible until they are forced to make a response. I would think with federal investigators looking in on the situation, they may just change their tune.
