This a complaint/rant about WEBS.com
I have been using webs for about two years now and there are no words to describe my dissatisfaction with this company. First off, Webs is a do-it-yourself web site building site. They have three feature packages to choose from. Free, enhanced, and Pro ($250 a year). The Free option will stick you with an obnoxious ad at the top of you website, to remove this is simple, you have to pay for enhanced, which will run you $100 or more. They also offer the option to include a custom domain from them with your upgrade, which is a total LIE, you actually get redirected to another page and service where you must pay $100 per year for your domain. (which is www.whatever.com) This step is almost unavoidable and is not part of webs.com, otherwise you are stuck with "whatever. WEBS.com or something similar. Which looks tacky, cheap, and unprofessional, all in order to make your site UNATTRACTIVE, so you upgrade!:)
Moving on... Webs is ALWAYS slow. I have had beyond high speed internet and I have had crap WIFI. Webs works just as fast on either, SLOW. That's covered.

Webs has no proper customer support, they have customer chat or "live help" which is not always active, in which case you get a young person with a chat window and notepad open and they will copy and paste instructions all day long on how to "do something". What they fail to hear is that, you already know HOW to do it, it just isn't working properly. This is the extent of all "live help" I have ever gotten. When I first started using Webs.com, I noticed that there was a time when they could actually get into your site and help you with an editing or webs feature issue. Now days customer support says they don't do that and they normally just send you to a link or blog for you to figure it out on your own. Because of dealing with this for two years, I now know how to do things that they don't even offer, yet they will talk to you like you have no clue what you are talking about, and you know. Maybe they don't. I doubt seriously that no one in their customer support center has built a website from scratch and managed it with 100 members for two years. Well, I have. So when you want a little customer service after two years and $350 dollars and loads of links and lies, you would expect more than just some teenager copying and pasting you things that you already know. 90% of the time the first thing customer support will do is direct you to a members blog where there are no real answers, just a lot of phoney accounts (the good comments) -my theory / and the real accounts (bad comments) of member after member complaining about the horrible service. Webs has a facebook and twitter account also, you can see for yourself the complaints that spew from these pages. Here is THEIR contact page, let me know if you see an official mailing address or 1-800- number, I know I sure didn't

here is what they call community powered support, that takes you to a Webs created member "support" Blog filled with resent cries about accessing accounts. Im sure their intention was for their customers to figure out the problems on our own and post them, making customer support and easy and relaxing job, you could brag about! Why not? They do,
here is proof: http://members. Webs.com/company.htm#office

in here you can see maybe even more than 30 different complaints with no answer in sight.

Webs is real quick and easy to rip you off, and those transactions are real easy, but be careful, they will charge you twice if they can, and i remember in the past having to fight for a small refund.
They would rather lose a customer over a quick $50 bucks, then to actually be professional and retain a loyal customer. Oh did I mention, if you want to cancel a website with webs, be prepared to did through what I call a "loop-de-loop" of links that take you in circles forever and definitely confuse you. It is designed this way and I have had many screen shots of how things did not match up or appear to be where they said it was going to be, and all this is on THEIR website. The terminology they use to categorize different packages, such as PRO or ENHANCED will sometimes be called something else by WEBS to confuse you. I have done a web search for the actual address of WEBS dot COM and I get no real results. Basically, just other web.com sites around the globe. If you have had a website from them for many years, and it is established, well I am sure they have those people right where they want them. Which as my site grows, (when I can log-in) I feel I get less and less help from them. I also currently use a separate feature called "who is among us" and I really like it, but sometimes I feel my site is being restricted, or that there are many people trying, but not being able to access my website, or log-in. My site has been viewed from all over the world and I also have a facebook page, a twitter page, just like webs, but for some reason after two years, my number of visitors is still pretty small. To boot... Long ago i got an anonymous email from someone that said "webs is a scam" and I took it to heart but continued to use webs, and now i am seeing for myself. I could write more but i have to go try and addend to my website, if i can log in that is.
Hindsight people, I am telling you now.
