I purchased a Toshiba e310 PDA about a year and a half ago. Almost to the day of the end of the warrent, the PDA stopped functioning. I contacted Toshiba and was told to send the unit back for repair. It was determined that the mother board needed to be replaced for and additional $110.00.
I got the unit back and it functioned for the first month, but then completely crashed again - exact same problems as when I had it repaired earlier. I called Toshiba again and was told that the repair warrenty was only for 30 days and I could send them another $125 dollars for repair and they would send me a new unit. The two charges ($235) total, is almost the price of a new unit and on top of the $310 I spent barely a year ago brings the total to $545 which would have bought a much more powerful PDA.
If I had wanted to spend that much money on a PDA, I would have done it the first time. Toshiba clearly does not stand behind their product or their repairs. It is safe to say it is the very last time I will every purchase their product and will be sure to let every one I know to avoid their company unless they are planning on throwing their money away.
