Beware!!! Please read this message.
I just want to pass the word to you that maybe you can warn others to *beware*.
I got my phone bill today and there was a $29.99 charge on it. From at&t. It was a 1-900 number.
Well. I knew something was wrong with that. As we never call those numbers.
We called the phone company to inquire about it.
The charge was a company that had contacted me by *email *and when i replied to them to "unsubscribe" to their emails on line,
Well, i did not know to unsubscribe to their junk trash emails that they were charging me by the minute or a fee was involved.
There was nothing in there emails that said you would have to pay to stop their emails.
Not knowing i clicked on unsubscribe and the computer dialed their number link which was the 900 number. At&t responded to me that they couldnt tell me who the co. Was but they
agreed that they would remove the charge this time off my bill cause it took less that a minute to unsubscribe, but if it happened any more that i would have to pay.
I will not pay them a dime for ripping me off. I dont want the spam emails.
All i have been doing is try to stop spammers from emailing me. And these people are ripping off people by the millions with their scam.
The phone company told me the only way to stop them is to authorise them to put a block on my phone line for 1-900 and 1 -927 numbers.
So i did authorise them to do that. That way my computer cannot answer the emails that are connected to the spam 900 numbers and the 927 numbers.
I would like for people to know about this email scam, so people can protect themselves from the companys that are doing this scam by emails,
I wish i knew who they are, and you dont have a clue its going on until you get your phone bill.
Try to pass the word on. Maybe something can soon be done about these scammers.
They sure dont tell you that you are being charged and you dont know until you get your phone bill. Thank you for reading this message. Cindy
